Glass themes are based on Ambience Ubuntu 2.3, Ambience Mint 2.3, Ambience Elementary 2.5.

Themes have Cinnamon 1.8 support.

Installation:
Extract folder from archive into either /usr/share/themes/ (as root) or ~/.themes/ (recommended).

If you have troubles with displaying panels (they are cutted off or stretched):
Run file: My resolution is 0000x0000 (where 0000x0000 is your resolution)(in folder with theme/cinnamon/ ).

24.01.2013 In Fedora 18 works Policykit authentication dialog. I corrected it =)

  1. Congratulations Vlad, very nice themes. Certified 1.6 and 5 stars from me.

  2. Thank you)

  3. Very nicely done! Thank you for your efforts. Hoping there might be an Elementary Glass coming down the road as well. Cheers!

  4. Wow...looks fantastic (both for linux mint and for those who use Cinnamon on ubuntu)... So good in fact, that @ Clem, why not make it the standard cinnamon menu!

  5. These are just mods of bimsebasse's Ambiance themes. Somehow you made them slower.... hmmm

  6. Hello, I'm using Maya. I tryed to install it as you said, but it doesn't appear on the themes menu... Any idea why? Thanks.

  7. I have such problem only then, when i copied folders into their place with Cinnamon settings opened. Whet i restarted Cinnamon settings, they appeared on themes list.

  8. on Nadia RC logging out and then back in again causes the system tray icons to become very large (on both versions of the theme). restart/logout doesnt fix, it only goes away if i revert panel settings to default.

  9. This problem can be simply eliminated: In Cinnamon settings (in panel department) there is such line: Allow Cinnamon to scalepanel text and icons according to the panel heights, activate this option.

  10. fabulous, that fixed it, vlad177d! thx for the help :)

  11. Soon i'll correct this problem, and u will have no need in that option.

  12. This problem appears not only with my theme (I tryed 10 other themes, only 3 of them have no such problem). I just have corrected it.

  13. wow that fix was really fast, ty for your hard work :)

  14. Simply excellent !

  15. These are the best menu themes on here, I think. I would like to see more 'glass'-styled themes though. ;)

  16. I cant get these to show up in themes no matter what I do

  17. Maybe restart cinnamon, cinnamon srttings... I don't know other way.

  18. Love this theme, how do you change the font color in the panel?

  19. There are two fonts on the panel: font of applets and fonts of windowlist applet. Color of applets fonts changes here: .applet-box {......... color: rgb(230,230,230); .......} Color of windowlist fonts changes here: .window-list-item-box {........... color: rgb(230,230,230); ...............} General fonts (as i think) u can change here: stage { font-family: ubuntu; color: rgb(230,230,230); font-size: 10pt; }

  20. Thank for the quick response,it worked perfectly.

  21. Should be Thanks,sorry

  22. I do non understand English normally )) Do not understand expression: " Should be Thanks, sorry " =) why should be?) why sorry and why Thanks in second answer and Thank in first) Why in second exspression word thanks was written from large letter?) Really, i know English wery bad)

  23. Amazing how this theme always goes +2 up whenever almost all themes around it goes -2/4/6 down. Someone with multiple accounts sure likes this...

    I just corrected this misconception (^ ^)

  2. Lunatico says:

This is a very very nice theme... but.... Cinnamon 1.6 certified???!!! What about this bug? http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=208&t=120125#p667200

  3. rpr-nospam says:

After unzipping the ZIP file (as a root) I got a directory tree with the file permissions like this: drwx------ for directories and -rw------- for files (the root's umask is 0022). This is not good if you intend to extract the ZIP to /usr/share/themes/ in order to make the themes available for all users. To fix this I had to run the following command: sudo chmod -R go+rX /usr/share/themes/Glass* Please, change the ZIP file so that files and directories have the correct permissions.

  4. vlad1777d says:

Lunatico, if u mean that bug with large icons on the panel, i corrected it month ago. Pre-installed theme is old and has many bugs.

  5. vlad1777d says:

rpr-nospam, I have tryed to fix this. But there is one nuance: if u move (as root) files, the owner will change to root. Now if u move files (as root) to /usr/share/themes , the owner will be changed to root, but other users will have permissions to read and write this files.

  6. rpr-nospam says:

Vlad, I downloaded the ZIP file again and extracted it with sudo unzip AWEY-V76A-K9VX.zip -d /usr/share/themes/ Now, all users have read and write permission (rwx) on the Glass* directories which is also not good. Fixed with: sudo chmod -R go=rX /usr/share/themes/Glass* On Unix like systems tar.gz archives are usually used. Maybe you should try that.

  7. vlad1777d says:

rpr-nospam, i just tried "sudo chmod -R ugo=rwx ~/.themes". Does it helped? (before this i tried do that with nemo).

  8. bimsebasse says:

Sorry you took it so hard, vlad - I wasn't accusing you personally, just commenting on what I see - it's still happening, whenever this goes up 2, at least half my themes (and often debimint's too) go down 2. Nadia and Gnome were around 25 not long ago, now they're heading for 15. Half a year of being here I have never seen any behaviour like it, and it all started 2 months ago or something. You have a crazy fan who does whatever he can to get this theme up on the page :o) Anyway, enough of that, it's not important, just childish behaviour.

  9. BobbyJ says:

Instead of "Thank for the quick response",it should have been Thank you for the quick response. The "sorry" was an apology.

  10. vlad1777d says:

bimsebasse, maybe u ask Clem to install antispam ) U and everybody who reads this, help me please, answer my questions ) What difference between "-arrow-background-color:" and "background-color:" in ".popup-menu-boxpointer {" ? For what the departments "* Policykit authentication dialog", " * End session dialog", " * Modal dialogs" are needed ? If u have links where i can find this data, share with me plz )

  11. Lunatico says:

vlad, yes I meant that bug. I though LM14 would have the latest installed. I downloaded it from here and installed it and it's good. Thanks!

  12. abnvolk says:

Vlad: click the settings applet on the panel, choose troubleshoot - Restore all settings to default. A modal dialog will pop up with Yes and No buttons. Policykit and End session dialogs are from Gnome and are no longer used in Cinnamon 1.6.

  13. vlad1777d says:

abnvolk, thank you) Just corrected modal dialog)

  14. Blackbox says:

Thanks. I am not using your theme, but I borrowed the transparent panel images to give the default theme transparent panels. Now it looks a lot better (with the Satanic Ubuntu wallpaper/s and icons).

  15. vlad1777d says:

    Blackbox, not at all)

  16. vlad1777d says:

    The permissions are changed.

  17. MoonDragon says:

on my screen (1366 x 768) each end of the panel is cut off (about 5 mm each side)..... can't understand why. Only these 3 Glass themes Every other theme works normally..

  18. vlad1777d says:

It is because the panels are made as images (svg files). If i write them in css file, the border will obstruct clicking on applet and menu buttons (if move mouse to the borders of your screen, you can't click on the buttons). If i'll write border as shadow without blur, then i'll have no opportunity to add normal shadow. So i made panels as images. To correct your error, resolution of your image file with panel must match with resolutioun of your screen. You can do it by yourself or with my help. I will try to correct this problem in a short time.

  19. vlad1777d says:

MoonDragon, it is difficult to correct your problem - do not work (or do not work correctly) border-image, background-repeat, background-position.

  20. vlad1777d says:

MoonDragon, i just corrected your problem

  21. 7090 says:

Could you make my resolution is 1920x1080 .sh file and necessary panel.svg files? Also could you update theme so that I can install it trough Cinnamon control center? Currently trying to do so in 1.7.10 result error message: no such file or directory: '/tmp/tmpLXUQL1/cinnamon.css'. Installing it manually to .themes work fine but it would be nice if theme could be installed easily through control center.

  22. vlad1777d says:

7090, of course i can make .sh file and panels (^ ^) But i don't understand how to install themes trough control center. Write here a link with description how to do it. Than, i think, i'll be able to help you.

  23. vlad1777d says:

7090, i've just added your resolution.

  24. 7090 says:

Thank you. Now theme work without panel being cutted off. As that description Clem should post description shortly according release announcement how to update themes to 1.8 which hopefully explain enough. Link of release accountment of 1.8 is http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/?p=261.

  25. 7090 says:

http://segfault.linuxmint.com/2013/05/cinnamon-1-8-applet-desklet-extension-and-theme-packaging-guidelines/ There are details how to update themes to Cinnamon 1.8. Hopefully this will help you to get this theme installation work trough control center.

  26. vlad1777d says:

    7090, done.

  27. TheXev says:

All your glass themes are buggy for me. The Theme is always too "short" for my Panel. Any idea how to fix it? http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/6973/screenshotfrom201305211.png
