Could someone recommend a GTK theme to complement this in Ubuntu 12.10?

Hi mimoh, I have added this to the cinnamon extras PPA: https://launchpad.net/~bimsebasse/+archive/cinnamonextras - installs with this command: sudo apt-get install cinnamon-theme-android-ics - hope that's OK!

Hey, mimoh; sorry if this is not the best way to ask, but how do you publish a theme? I'm in the last testing stages and I'm almost ready to release an RC, but I have little to no idea how to publish a theme. Perhaps you'd have an advice regarding this? Thank you for your answer and your hard work. Danko.

Sorry, I got you wrong with your last comment; already saw the update; Nice going! I like the color of the new overview button and the spacing problem is fixed; also, the new 'alt+tab' dialog feels a lot more like home :) The real difference is very little, but it does help a bit with theme integration. Really nice going. Cheers. Danko.

@mimoh: I see; that could be the reason; thanks for hearing me out. That is just one of the things I love about Linux. Go say a Microsoft guy that you don't like the panel color and they'll just say "then go buy it from somebody else". Thanks for your great work, mihmo; looking fordward to the update :)

Danko8321: I've noticed that a very large box may need a larger border-radius in order to appear similar to a very small box. This could be the reason the alt-tab dialog felt out of place. Anyway the update is ready to go. Did all the changes work out?

mimoh: No, thanks to you for the great theme :) Anyway, there are some things that I forgot to mention in the above post and I want them to get to you: Nice work on the Expo 'Add workspace' button! Pretty cool. Looks kinda sad and lonely with the gray-ish background, but hopefully that will become customizable in upcoming Cinnamon versions. Nonetheless, really good work on that one :) Second thing was about the 'alt+tab' dialog; overall it is pretty cool, but it almost looks squared and that disagrees a bit with the theme. Have you considered making it a little bit more round? Not too much, but just a little bit more rounded in the edges; what I mean is not to take it to the extent of the default Cinnamon theme (I think that would be too much) but perhaps about as rounded as in the Nightlife theme? (or a little less?) IMHO that would help the theme integration. Either way, my favorite theme in a long way. Cheers. Danko.

Hello, mimoh; just wanted to tell you it is a great theme for Cinnamon. My favorite of them all, actually. However, there are still a few things that could be fixed; For example, there seems to be a lot of space between the BlueTooth and WiFi icons; you should have a look at that; it makes the theme feel a little weird. The second thing that I find to be a bit of a trouble is the Overview icon; don't get me wrong, it is beautiful and goes pretty well with the theme, but I find it a bit hard to see given that most of Cinnamon's window themes are white/gray. Perhaps you should consider changing the color of the icon while keeping the shape; I'm not sure how it would look in a light blue or a semi-transparent black, but I think you should try it and see how it goes; I'm sure something can be done to improve visibility a bit. Other than that, pretty much love it. Thank you for your hard work. Danko.

Gianluca: I still can't find anything for personal icon size. Could you upload a screenshot just to see the severity of the issue? I also changed icon spacing to match the default theme for Cinnamon 1.4. Thanks for the feedback!

Very good!!! now it is almost perfect! well done! just the icon size and maybe now the distance between volume and bluetooth (or wifi) is too wide. i'll try to take a look and in case i'll send you the code. many many thanks your theme is stunning!

Gianluca: Just uploaded version 0.8! I couldn't quite fix the icon size thing ( maybe someone can point me in the right direction :O ) But I certainly fixed some spacing issues! Enjoy ^^

Gianluca: Alrighty. Those steps seem plausible. Now I gotta find that little distance snippet. Thank you for the feedback! I'll get back to you most likely by tomorrow.

mimoh: for the moment I think the two main aspects to solve are: the icons size in the panel (decrease tray icons size such as skype, pidgin, mintupdate but just a bit) and the transition speed. I understand your idea about harmonization (and maybe you can use the same color of date menu for highlight extensions and button menu). The next step in my opinion is to increase a bit the size of volume button as well as the wifi, battery and bluetooth button. The last step will be regulating the distance among extensions and applets. Thank you for answering me :)

Gianluca: I can sorta see where you are going with this. Not too sure about the icon bit. I would like to increase the distance between extensions. I'll definitely have to include that in the next release. I think there are places to change the transition speed. I'll have to take a look. As for harmonization, i'm not sure I follow you there bud. Is there any way you could elaborate on that bit?

Neo_Pt: Navigate to 'home' folder >> Hit ctrl+h (show hidden files) >> Travel down to .themes >> Extract the zip file here. Then go to cinnamon settings (start >> preferences >> cinnamon settings) and change the theme there. You might have to restart the shell so hit alt + f2 then type r >> enter. The icons are a little trickier. Navigate to the theme you just extracted, i left a few png files for you to use as icons >> copy the file location path >> right click on the icon in the panel >> click edit >> paste the file location path to the 'Icon' field. You may have to change a few things. Sorry if this is super confusing! Thank you for being patient and trying out my theme~! XD

I think your theme is almost perfect and you did a very very good work. Few questions about the panel: can you decrease (only a bit) the size of icons in the notificaion area? It will be nicer. (i.e. the skype icon is too big) can you increase the space between bluetooth button and connection manager button? (i don't know if it is possible). I like the blue effect when the mouse pointer goes on the date menu but maybe you have to harmonize this effect: I mean it is probably better to leave it white because when you point on extensions they only become more brilliant remaining white (so there is no harmonization about effects). Now about the menu: can you make the hoover effect faster when the pointer moves on icons? Thank you and well done. I think your theme is the best theme ever.
