@Melroy van den Berg: Thanks for your mention of manually copying over a specific format into "Timezone to display". I noticed that "Timezone Clock" (which I prefer) and possibly "World Clock Calendar" seemed to have changed now (Oct 2026) since I used Timezone Clock last year (2025), due to a timezone formatting change(?). Before, I could type in "EET" or "EEST" to get the correct timezone for Bulgaria. Now, the "Timezone to display" field requires something like "America/Los_Angeles" instead of "PST" or for me tracking a relative travelling using "Europe/Sofia" instead of "EET". Typing in "Europe/Sofia" will show time in the format "hh:mm EET". Typing in "Etc/GMT-2" will show the format "hh:mm +02" (yes, minus becomes plus) For anyone looking, the valid timezone names can be found by opening up a terminal and typing "timedatectl list-timezones" (no space in list-timezones). A very nice list of timezone names(aka TZ identifier) with their corresponding time offsets can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones

Maye its just me, but using the "Select timezone on map" allows me to select a timezone, but I can't apply or confirm the timezone..? So what gives? it still says "Etc/UTC"?

So I manually need to copy over and now type "America/Los_Angeles"? Really worst UI ever. See also: ls -lha /usr/share/zoneinfo/America

selecting timezone does not work at all. What do I do? I am a newbe Linux user :). I used 'tzselect' in terminal and added the timezone to my profile in the home directory, but this did not seem to work.

LM22.2 right click on clock and configure accordingly no need for this applet

Working great on LMDE (Debian 12) and super handy for seeing what the datetime is UTC on the bar. Thanks LH RILEY!

I've found the solution, here's the tip for those who have this problem. Open your Dconf-Editor; copy the line below and paste it in the address bar: /org/cinnamon/desktop/interface/clock-show-seconds Then change the default key value from "false" to "true" ... done!

The Timezone selection doesn't appear to work, at least with the tow buttons "Select timezone on map" and "Browse valid timezone values by country".

Difficult to locate the correct format for PST Los Angeles CA USA. Nothing entered seems to change the timezone and display... None of the listings on the Web Page TZ list seem to make a difference.

CLOSED Had to use 'tzselect' (CLI) to find proper format for TZ. Not referenced in ANY documentation/help Working now...
