Thank you for this desklet. It works pretty fine. Have you considered creating another desklet that works like an alarm clock, optionally playing a sound file after a certain time (like an egg timer) or at a specific time (time, perhaps date and time), counting down until then, and displaying a message? I used Vibe coding for mine, but I suspect you could get more out of the idea.

I've already read your feature request on GitHub. Perhaps I will implement such a desklet at some point, but I can't promise anything yet.

This is my desklet. I created it with Gemini and Grok, so the app might not always work perfectly. However, it does work and is therefore sufficient. Changing the desklet's playback time will trigger the sound. Longer texts will be displayed on your desktop. As usual, I can place many of these desklets on my desktop and receive numerous audio notifications throughout the day. Perhaps you can use the source code for inspiration or to create a working desklet. I'm not familiar with Cinnamon or JavaScript and therefore cannot offer support or further development. https://github.com/paintdog/alarm-clock-cinnamon-desklet Others might also need a simple, space-saving alarm desklet (with reminders for the dryer, the washing machine, or to pick up the children from sports).

Yesterday I created a pull request for a timer desklet. It only has the timer function. https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon-spices-desklets/pull/1737 Perhaps another desklet with an alarm clock would be useful.
