Theme supports cinnamon.

Aune is a partially transparent theme. The color has been changed from black to a slightly brown. A 3px gap has been added between the panel and the menu. Rounded corners. The text brightens slightly when hovered over.

The goal is to make transparency work well with different background images. Currently, a light background image works better.

The theme is named after my grandmother.

Installation

Most easily installed via Cinnamon's Themes module in Cinnamon settings.

6.2.2026 Added gtk3-gtk4 folders. All png images are now in svg format (better quality). Added comments in the css files (now in Finnish, in English later). Many improvements to colors. Text is more black and gray text is also easier to read. Idea: you can easily change the colors of svg images with Inkscape.

20.1.2026 Now supports Cinnamon legacy menu and Cinnanu. Panel customization window colors are better visible.

19.1.2026 Changes to polkit, dialog and popup windows.

14.1.2026 Rounded corners for window.list and grouped-window. Menu text brightens when hovering over it. Mostly text-related improvements. New Aune version numbering.

11.1.2026 Aune now also supports Cinnamon 6.6.4 (Linux Mint 22.3). The new menu works, but I will make some minor color changes to it in the future. The virtual keyboard colors now match the Aune theme.

30.9.2025 The theme's transparency has been improved and colors corrected. Thumbnail icon logo changed. Future plans: Icon colors and gtk colors.
