Last commit: [6a938d9f] OSD150@claudiux: Add Croation translation (#1070)

The OSD Window handled by the Enhanced Sound Applet

README

Close

OSD Window 150, extension fully handled by the Enhanced Sound Applet (sound150@claudiux) and the Radio3.0 applet.

This extension allows to display an OSD window that can be:

  • with or without level bar (which is very smooth),
  • with or without level value,
  • with or without '%' beside level value,
  • horizontal (the level value appears alongside the level bar),
  • vertical (the level value appears above the level bar).

  • Settings (from v2.0.0): You can now change the position of the OSD window.

All these options can be set from the Sound tab (OSD section) of the Enhanced Sound Applet settings, or from the Behavior tab of the Radio3.0 applet.

Can we have a greater offset range? On a 4k monitor 775px barely moves the OSD.

Edit the `~/.local/share/cinnamon/extensions/OSD150@claudiux/settings-schema.json` file and change values at lines 33, 34, 42, 43. Then restart Cinnamon and edit settings for OSD150. Please tell me which values seem correct to you.

Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon 6.0.4 "Extension OSD150@claudiux is not compatible with your version of Cinnamon." Could you make this available for older versions of Cinnamon please? The stock volume OSD is funky. I'm using Enhanced Sound applet. Upon PC boot I test the shortcut keys (Fn+F3) to maximize the volume but OSD maxes at 100% only. No problem with mouse scroll (reaches 150%). But this then always makes the volume step inconsistent--actual on OSD is 7% with shortcut keys, even though it's set at 5% on Enhanced Sound applet. I'd have to reload Enhanced Sound applet. At first it would seem to fix all the above issues but after some time the 7% vs 5% volume step returns. OSD vs Sound even returns random 20% differences, literally out of whack, with each press of Fn+F3/F2. (Note I observe these issues with shortcut keys only.) I figure that "Extension OSD150@claudiux" might fix these issues but it isn't compatible with my older version of Cinnamon. I would not want to update it to the latest version if possible as I think it'd have issues with the OS. (On the other hand I hope I won't have to reload Enhanced Sound applet every system boot anymore.) Thanks.

I just tested it again; it works fine after installing and adding it. Use it with the Enhanced Sound applet. In the settings for this applet, in the Sound tab, check the “Show horizontal OSD” option.

it worked; acted funny before [Reload this applet] and Restart Cinnamon. Deactivated Sound and RESTART the OS.
